My partner and I coach little league baseball. We are involved in our communities and our kid's schools. We were entrenched in community based fundraisers...you know the ones? Candy, popcorn, wrapping paper.
Kid labor...shipping...storage...waste...a lot of work...for what. $.35-. 50 on the dollar?
There had to be a better way. We launched an ebased fund raising site designed specifically for community based organizations that allows them to more effectively tap into their communities...effortlessly!
http://www.memsaic.com/
The concept is simple. Organizations go to our site and within minutes create a "Memsaic" - a virtual memory wall - that is sent to their community. Members, friends and family, neighbors make donations by purchasing bricks on the Memsaic and upload pictures to show their support - memories captures in mosaic form. As the wall fills a community is showcased coming together in support a cause they care about - their local library; school; little league team. The Memsaic can then be presented back in Slideshow and CD ROM. Our goal is to use a little community based peer pressure to increase the effectiveness of efundraising. Our first beta-test had a 25% response rate.
It is designed for organizations and/or cause champions who would raise money of behalf of an organization.
We hope you check us out. We'd love your feedback as we are just getting underway!
